Prity Banerjee (born 1987) is an Indian social worker and social entrepreneur and founder of Little Umbrella Foundation, a very well known Nonprofit organization (NPO) headquartered in Delhi, India. Prity Banerjee is known for her active participation in social causes, especially in child welfare and education.
Work
Prity founded Little Umbrella Foundation Nonprofit organization in the year 2014, She is India’s one of the youngest social worker who set a benchmark on running her own organization in her early 20’s. Her devotion to social work gave a positive change in many lives. 5000 children got directly impact by her child abuse prevention campaign and almost 10000 underprivileged children have been felicitated by the projects ran by Prity in Little Umbrella Foundation. Prity is a very know social icon and celebrity who has been in news channels in talk shows and known for her effective debates and talks. She has been a regular face on Delhi Aaj Tak, Aaj Tak, Anjan TV, News24, India TV, etc. She was an invited guest as Social Activist to present her views and opinions during the hanging of Nirbhaya case accusers on News24 on 20th March 2020.
Prity travel various places as a judge and examiner also, as she is efficient and proactive in her overall knowledge and skills. Prity has also played the lead role in the film “Sandhya Bhasha” directed by eminent filmmaker Gautam Chatterji
Prity has also launched podcast series || Kisse Banaras Ke || during COVID-19 lockdown with eminent personalities like Nivaan Sen, Mona Verma, Amit Mishra and Gaurav Kapoor.
During the 2020 pandemic Prity launched “Virtual Vidyalaya“ under little umbrella foundation to provide children free education online.
Education and Early Life
Prity was an All India Radio artist and also was a news anchor for Doordarshan Varanasi. She has participated in various TV shows through out her life. She hosted a musical reality show called Gunjan season 2 on Doordarshan. In her school and college life she was a renowned theater artist and did many lead roles in plays like Ali Baba – Marjina, Octopus Ltd., Sukha ka Vishwa Darsha, Alokanonda-r Putro Konya (Bengali) by Manoj Mitra, Teen number Chokh Sunil Gangopadhyay etc.
She is Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad in Indian Classical Music, Bhavageete and trained in Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Geeti and have participated in various programs all over India.
She is also certified in cooking by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, India
